As far as I know the title is tied to the VIN imprinted on the frame. If you don't have a tile you can go to the DMV and put down a bond and they'll give you one. I don't think it's possible for someone to sell you a title.

You can not simply buy someone else's title as it is tied to the VIN #

Does the frame appear to be ground off where the VIN was before? If so, it may be stolen. If there's no VIN anywhere, and no sign of alteration, I'd bet good money that it's not an OEM frame. Honda puts VINs on every bike it builds, regardless of where the bike will go after production.

Either way, you can't buy a title from another bike. I think your best option is to contact your DVM and ask how to register the vehicle. They may be willing to provide a salvage tile if you can place a bond to guarantee the bike is yours.

Im having a little trouble understanding you, but you bought a frame off ebay, for $1800, and it doesnt have a VIN on it?

My 2 cents is it is either stolen or someone fabricated it...regardless for $1800 it seems like you got played.

Actually Honda sells them without vins stamped onto the neck. I had a cracked frame off a 07 cbr1000rr that had a clean title because the guy didnt have full coverage so I went to the honda shop with the title and they ordered me a new one for $1200. When the frame came in it didnt come with a vin stamped, it only came with a sticker to put on it with the vin#. I was pissed because I thought it would come with the vin stamped into it but I had the shop call honda back to see if it was a mistake and they said thats how they sell them.
