CBR 2005 or 2007
Hi Guys,
I'm new to this forum, as I just moved from another country and used a Portuguese forum there.
I had a '99 CBR 900RR back in my country and I'm looking for one here in US.
I have two deals I'm looking into right now and want some opinions:
1) CBR 1000RR Repsol 05 - This bike is absolutely amazing (cosmetic speaking). The actual owner made tons of mods that looks very good.
Exhaust System, Brake lines, Brake discs, Lights, pedals sets, alarm system... Everything looks pretty good, bike has 8300 miles on it.
The only thing I don't like is the license holde which is beside the rear wheel instead of below the seat.
85000 USD
2) CBR 1000RR Repsol 07 - This bike is almost original, the only mods are:
Turn Lights were modificated to flushmount lights and integrated tail light.
Carbon fiber hear huggers, chain and side covers. The exhaust was modificated too, but I would change because I didn't like the way it looks.
8200 miles on it.
85000 USD
Both bikes are in mint conditions, and I'm thinking to keep the bike for at least 3 years.
Let me know your thoughts! Many thanks!
Alex

Why would you even consider the 05 over the 07? Just the mods? Its more fun to mod yourself over time and make it exactly the way you want anyway. The only expensive ones it looks like on the 05 are the exhaust, rear-sets and discs, which I don't think would make it worth it. Both seem a bit steep to me at $8500, but I don't live in the US so I don't know the prices well. Seems to me it wouldn't be too much more for a brand new left-over '08 though.
Also, have you considered the newer 600s? It may not seem like it but it would be a pretty big upgrade from your 900, except at down low in the rev-range. An 08 600 would almost certainly be in your price range.

Well, I want a Repsol and I don't like the mod kits of the 600s to make they look like an Repsol. I prefer the factory look, hehe...
In your opinion is a best thing to go with the 07? I almost doing that. I will spend 500USD more because I will need to have it shipped here to my State.
Also about the pricing. In US that's the price. 07 Repsol are around 8500 - 10000 USD.
You even find 05's for the same price....
Thanks,
Alex

Go for the 07 for sure!
Dont worry about beeing too much of a bike for you, you are going to get used to that.
My first bike as a 954rr and there is nothing wrong with it, i would regret buying anything smaller.
By the way.. portuguese from portugal or brazil??
