if you beat on it, it will be a "faster" even more aggresive bike than it already is ! But......... sure as hell that engine won't last too long. Racers break their engines by running upto the red line from the start, but then again they can afford to exchange their motors every 2-3 races or so. My advice is don't go over 6000rpms , accelerate and let it fall from the rpms without pulling in the clutch.
Go through all the 6 gears accelerate and decelerate in the same fashion as I mentioned. Break with the enigine . You do this untill what the first 600 miles or so, go have your initial check up (oil, filter exchange) , check all the fluids, and this way you can ride it above 6000 rpms. Good luck and have fun

its fine to change it now. syth, blend, 10w30, 10w40, 15w20
whatever
i went to mobil 1 15w50 after 25 miles in both of my bikes with no issues but oil opinions are like ********, everyone has a different one

Ride it through the entire RPM range. Don't do full throttle starts and hard acceleration for the first 500-600 miles (don't stunt either)
Just ride it normally, try to avoid "cruising" at the same RPM for too long. Move the bike throughout the RPM range (city riding usually does this fine by itself). Take the bike up to red line a few times during the break in period as well. Not wide open throttle, but calmly taking the bike up to redline, then roll off the throttle and let the bike slow itself back down to 5,000 or so. Do this a couple of times as soon as possible to seat the rings properly. (though, with 35 miles on the clock, they're probably already seated). Doesn't hurt to go ahead and do it anyway.
Then change the oil at 600 miles (or have the 600-mile checkup done at a trusted shop/dealer). Many people say the 600-mile checkup is worthless, but they checked and tightened quite a few things on mine when I took it in, but the quality of the check also depends on the dealer/shop you take it to. Price also varies too. Mine was $80 bucks to go over everything, and I've heard outrageous quotes upwards of $250 for doing the same thing.

RE: break in my new cbr1000 engine!!!!
Hi. Just like you, I read many many posts on the topic when I bought my new 1000RR last spring. I thought it was safer to go with the smooth option (taking it easy on the first 1000km) than to just ride it like you stole it, as I am planning to keep the bike for many years. I kept the revs under 5000-5500 for the first 500km and made sure that I was always shifting gears, not staying at steady RPM for too long. I was also doing lots of roll ons in every gears, without loading the engine excessively. It apparently helps the rigns to sit better. From 500km to 1000km, I was doing the same, but allowing to go 6000-6500, with a few odd times at 7000-7500. I changed my oil AND filter at 250, 500 and 1000km. I rode 7 700km with the bike this summer and I could not be happier with the bike!! And one thing that really made me grin is one of my trips in the Adirondack Park (US) with my friend on his new 2007 GSX-R1000. Not only does the CBR rips, in the twisties, but guess what, my friend is 40-45lbs lighter than I am (and a better rider than me)and when doing roll ons from 60mph up, we were side by side all the way up!! I was very surprised, honestly, I thought the gixxer was to jump ahead. Anyway, hope this helps. Love the CBR.
