Advice 04 1000RR CBR
My experience is that bikes in SoCal are $500-$1500 more expensive than in other places... so if people are telling you that the price is too high, find out where they live. Chances are it's out of state.
On newer bikes perhaps this higher price is because CA models were equipped with catalytic converters (and perhaps other things I'm unaware of), which added to the OTD cost when new - and of course the seller wants as much return for his/her bike as possible.
Used bikes also tend to have higher mileage, especially in the coastal zones where the riding is pretty much year round.
Oh yeah - I wouldn't buy that particular bike. Get a new one or a *clean* low mileage used one that scares the **** out of its owner.

I live in Orange County California. I bought a 2005 CBR1000RR at Hahm Motorsports in Anaheim. I paid 9800 out the door. I opened my bike with the mechanic out of the crate. So I would spurge and get a newer one rather than the 04.
thanks for all your advice...
i went to look at another 04 one tonight.. the price was good, the mileage and condition was good..
the only thing is it had a funny vin number... Most of the vin numbers are like 17 characters long and start with a J
this guys had a california vehicle ID number and it was like CA XXXXXX or something of that sort? Is it a stolen bike/title? Whats the scoop? It had a normal engine number though... It was too dark to look for anything else...

If you want 2006 I can get you a smokin deal but if you want 05 I can get you a better deal. Let me know man. Plus you have to figure prices will drop in another month or two due to the fact its "winter" You and I both know thats not the case here in SOCAL but not enough people buy bikes during those times. Like I said man just let me know.
