Get the 1000RR. You will love it.
If they made a CBR2000RR I would own one.

I just bought the 1k for my first bike and dont have any problems. All u have 2 do is respect the bike and lay off the wrist a bit and u wil be fine. Besides in a couple months if u get the 6 u will wanna trade up to the 1k

Get the 1000RR simply because you can buy one for $8983 plus tax from Southern Honda. Damn, how do they do that?

I also have to say I own both a 2005 600RR and a 2006 1000RR and my 06 1000RR handles A LOT BETTER, WORLDS BETTER, LIKE NIGHT AND DAY BETTER, (did I say better?) then my 600RR! the 1000RR also is accelerates a lot more powerful and harder then the 600 and the power comes on a lot sooner in the RPM range.

I dont have a clue where you got your facts but you are way off there buddie. the 600 is faster and turns better than the 1000 up to about 95 mph then the 1000 takes over. If you are taking turns at that speed and can feel a difference than your a better man than 99.9% of us

First I didn't quote any facts; I only stated what I've personally experienced since my wife and I currently own both bikes. When I said my 1000 handles better then my wife's 600 I meant that I can lean the 1000 over farther and "flick" it easier then the 600 and it feels a lot more natural doing both. For some reason I have to muscle the 600 over more and it keeps wanting to stand upright when leaned over. When I trail brake both bikes the 1000 wants to stay leaned over in the turns but again the 600 wants to stand up right. In regards to the 1000 pulling faster, harder and feeling the power coming on sooner, same thing, I am only going by what I've experienced riding both bikes. The 1000 will wheelie for days effortlessly in first and second gear. I probably will do so in third gear but I don’t have to skill to try it yet. The 600 needs the on/off/on throttle technique to get it to wheelie. Even after a -1/+2 gear change the 600 still needs finessed to wheelie in first and now second gear. Back to handling, for all I know the 600 should handle better than the 1000 but my wife's definitely handles worse. Maybe it's because the 600’s suspension needs some major adjusting and the 1000 is set up just right? I hope to find out next week when I take both up to Mid-Ohio first track days event.

Since you mention "facts” where are you getting yours? Below are the quarter miles times, 60-80mph times (sec.) and the 80-100 times (sec.) in that order from www.sportrider.com. I admit I am no expert when it comes to judging the performance differences between motorcycles but if what you say is true, "the 600 is faster and turns better than the 1000 up to about 95 mph then the 1000 takes over", how is the 1000 faster in the quarter mile, 60-80mph and the 80-100mph? Please explain because I am eager to learn.

Motorcycle (Quarter Mile time) (60-80MPH) (80-1000MPH)
CBR600RR ('05) (10.49 @ 133.3) (3.59) (3.56)

CBR1000RR ('06) (9.898 @ 146.47) (2.76) (2.58)

I have to reply when challenged but I do admit I tend to rant on some times.

So yea, Stelmadl, what did you get?

i've been told that the clutches are different...wet vs. dry. can you feel the difference here?
1000rr is hydraulic, the 600rr is cable.. neither are dry clutches.. you can launch the 600 better cause you can slip the clutch better on a cable..

vermino,
i dont no where you get your facts. ive had both the 600rr and now the 1000rr and the 1000rr will eat the 600 for lunch when it comes to speed and power. and who ever says you cannot tell the differance between the 600 power delivery compaired to the 1000 is eather asleep or drunk. the 600 comes in at aroung 9000 hard the 1000 comes in at about 3500 hard with about 50 more ponies . and the differance in top speed is awsome . now the new 1000rr that will be the 2006 is only 30lbs heavier then the 600 and believe me they hid the weight well. my friend ride the 600 and the 1000 and he agrees with me the 2006 1000 handles better and is by far way quicker then the 600. iam in no way knocking the 600 i loved it but cant keep both so i have the 1000rr the power delivery just fits me better i lolve the bottom end it has. by the way i had a yosh fullsystem/power commander/3in2 gear set on the 600 wasnt to much difference between the both but some and a lot on the top
