40 year old riders
I turned 62 last August . I recently traded in my 04 Silver Kawasaki ZRX1200R (Full Muzzy system, Dyno-Jet 3 kit and K&N`s) on a 07 CRB1000RR Repsol Edition . I`ve also got a 07 Candy Plazma Blue Kawasaki ZX 14 ( Full Muzzy M 10 System , Power Commander , Flies out , and 1.5 Lowering Link ) . My 3rd bike is a 07 Yamaha Stratoliner S criuser . It`s all stock except for the Yamaha Acc. Exhaust and a lay-down rear plate bracket . I really like all three . I hated to trade the 04 bike in . It was perfect with only 8,100 miles . It`s hard enough to justify having three bikes , and four would have been just too much in insure and maintain . The criuser is for slow day`s and the other two are for - - -well you know .
On a side note, I'm asking opinions from the older crowd.... I've only had my bike (2009 600RR) for a month and I've thought about putting it up for sale because it seems like on a short ride (2 hrs) my butt cheeks just start hurting very much. Granted I'm 5'11" @ 235#'s but I just had my seat repadded with a gel insert and more foam. Am I not giving the bike a chance? What is your opinion? Don't get me wrong I love the bike and it is great for short rides around town but I really find myself not wanting to ride it say 200-300 miles at a time.
Sportsbikes are notoriously hard on the **** - consider a 1000F - I'm 20 years older than you, with a bad back and can still ride a 1000F over 1000K's (600+ miles per day)
Maybe, being a big guy, you need to consider a change..................
And a 1000F is every bit as rapid as a new 600......

Just turned 49 on the 5th.
Still riding the SAME bike I bought in 1991 when I was 30 years old...
Also still hoping to do a riding school and track day in the next 5 years or so if my body can still hold up that long.

Well I've posted my bike up for sale on Craigslist but now I'm having second thoughts...after reading some of the comments here and doing some research... what have you guys done to your bikes to make them more comfortable?? I do love my 600 and don't really want to get rid of it...and won't if I can make it easy on the body on 4+ hour trips.
