Considering that your ride is a bit of a pig, the 08 would be a whole different bike. All depends whether your in it for looks or the ride.

i have an 06 and an 08. they are worlds apart. i love my 06 but that friggin 08 is ***** out. night and day. the 08 is sooooooooo smooth on the efi. the 08 pulls like a **** compared to the 06.

the 08 is worth every penny.

Really TBagr - can you tell us a bit more of the differences you notice btw both bikes
Acceleration, handling, ergonomics, steering etc.

What about in comparison to an 07? I too have a repsol, the nicky hayden signature blah blah blah. I know it is a limited production model but the nada is only worth like $500 more than a regular one. Been thinking about trading in also for an 08 and am thinking next year they will probably have a repsol edition also. And there are also the kits available to turn one into a repsol edition.

But I looked on Ebay and the 07 repsol editions, the ones that haven't been dropped, are going to like $20k, don't know if they are selling but the bids are that high. But then again these are like new no miles. I have a few. CAn't help but ride the thing. Love it.

But if the new one is kickass, I definitely love the honda. But it is so small. The new cbr1k is smaller than the r6. How are the ergos, tucked and long rides?

The difference is what the bro. Tbagr mentioned and some...at least 10'xs better...

For power and performance ......

Every single dollar is worth it....in my opinion...

Over the weekend I read a mag called "Bike" and the 1000's litre bike test indicated that the over all performance machine was the all new Honda CBR 1K...yessiirrreeee !

You have to also remember that over the years these companies have to review and look at what the riderz are looking for in a machine that performs well..

The prior Honda 1000's were/are awesome as well for they have to make a better machine to contend with the other companies dont you think.

Over the last few years the Gixxer 1k has domininated the litre bike class, therefore Honda wants to step up their game plan and build a high powered machine and I think the 08' version will bring that out....

Don't think my bike is a bit of a pig.It probaly looks better than the new one but I think it could be time to update as things seem to have moved on quite a bit in 3 years.Perfomance and handling do matter but it helps if it looks good as well(new bike not as sharp looking but growing on me,I like the black version here in the UK)
