Default 06 Head Lights

I just got my 06 and want to re wire the head lights to have both sides work together. I want two low beams and then two high beams on and have it work with the high/low beam swithch on the handle bar. Has anyone done this or know how to do this. Any help would be appreciated.

i have never actually done this before but i have talked to people who have and its really labor intensive. Since the headlight housings only have an outlet for one bulb per headlight you are going to need to change your bulbs to dual filaments. The stock bulbs are single filaments. Then your going to have re-wire both headlights to work off the same setting that your headlight switch is running off of. Your going to have to splice both headlights into a single wire which then will be connected to the switch on the handlebars. This way when the button is on low beam, then both dual filament bulbs will be on low beam, and then when you click over to highs, then both bulbs will flip also. If your pretty good at electrical then it shouldnt be too bad, but if your not that familiar with it, then you might have the front end off for awhile. Also ive seen people rig up kill switches where they can choose one light, both lights, or no lights. But good luck.

Something else to think about.......

I was told that the reason that everyone has moved to single headlights is that at night the dual headlights can be mistaken for a car that appears to be a long ways off. A few years back I had a rar turn left in front of me, and it totalled my CB1000. It was not anything I would wish on anybody.
