Can you post a pic? I'm not following you. Are you saying the cylinders are oval? The headers go on to the front of the cylinder head at the exhaust ports, not between the lower-end and the cylinder-head which is where a head gasket goes.

The header gasket should be oval. They do sometimes discontinue parts and supersede them with others, but I don't see how a round crush gasket will work. If its a genuine Honda part, there should be a number on the package. Go online and google search for a Honda parts fiche and cross reference the numbers.

Also, depending on what your doing, they are reusable. if your just removing the header and putting it back on, you can re use the copper gaskets. If your changing headers, then new ones will be needed.

Thanks, squid! I was hoping someone with experience would pipe-in. As mentioned in other posts, the bottom end is not an area I am really really familiar with (missed saying as much, in this thread, "oops!"). I only commented to try to prompt for better info and to assure frank that someone was listening. ;-)

No problem. I see that you are an extremely helpful member here and it doesn't go unnoticed. And going along with what you said, it never hurts to get a thread bumped for the reasons you mentioned. No one here is an expert on everything. But this forum with so many members that have experience in different areas combine to make a very knowledgable community. And you are a big part of that. So thanks for being an active member.

Glad you got it figured out. Mistakes happen all the time. I generally try to give the benifit of the doubt when ordering and things are wrong. I look more at how they handle their mistakes. If they take extra care of you to get you the correct part, then its usually ok with me. Of course, if they make a lot of mistakes, I go elsewhere. But hopefully you found a new reliable place to order from.

Also, make sure to check out the rest of the forum. There are a lot of good members here. Depending on where you live, you could find new friends to ride with as well.
