Default 04 1000RR Charging Problems? HELP!

I have an 04 Honda 1000RR with 18,000 miles and i turned the key yesterday and it would not start the dash lights flickeredand the headlights were dim. So i put a brand new battery in and it started and ran for for One day. Now it wont start again. Where should i start testing at the stator? the voltage regulator? the recitfier? Has anyone else had this problem? What can i do to find out whats causing this problem so that i can fix it because this is my only set of wheels. Thanks for any help.

Well i just purchased the bike 2 months ago.I installed a scorpio alarm, short stalk front turn signals, fender eleminator with intergraded rear lense do you think honda will still warranty my stator if its bad? All of the Factory wires are UNCUT, i used a factory plug in kit for the alarm so i could take it off.So when i trailer it to Honda what do i say, My stator is bad and i heard there is a recall on the 04 10000RRs?

Welcome to the club!! Well, I know this line is not useful..In Singapore, only CBR1000RR from the official Honda dealership got a recall to replace the whole ACG. That is the stator and flywheel..Plus+++++++ A 7 YEAR WARRANTY for the stator!!!!!!!!!!! Those parallel imports like mine were left to suck our thumb!! [:'(]

OK well i got my service manual out and tested the regulator\rectifier and it was all good. So i charged up my battery fired the bike off and tested the voltage from the stator to the regulator and it wasa total of8 volts. i know thats not enough and i did some searching on that recall and i found the notice printed it out and called the 1-800 number. They asked for my vin, name, year, and model. Then they said take it to your local dealer and tell them your having charging problems and show them this notice. So i hauled the bike to the dealer (after i pulled all my aftermarket electrical items off) and told them what i found and they called me 3 days later and said my stator was fried and they ordered a "kit" to replace my stator and flyweel that would take a week to get the part and they could have it fixed the day they get the parts.I was told it was all coverd no charge. They had the bike a total of 10 days and i got it back yesterday and it was free of charge and it runs like a bat out of hell so now i have to put all my aftermarket goodies back on and ride! Thanks to who ever posted a picture of that recall letter that saved me a ton of money!
