My 2 cents. I own a 06 and i got my chance to ride my friends 08. Yeah its a nice bike I don't see no night and day difference. Too me I feel like my 06 is making more low end power. I also feel that the 06 is better looking. The 08 is a nice bike but its not nice enough for me to start all over with payments again. My friend that owns the 08 had an 04 and hes the kind of guy that thinks newer is better, But I have more smarts than hem. A 1000 is a 1000. I don't need the best thing out there, All bikes has different things that stands out from one another, But its like I said Im a proud 06 owner and I love my bike more and more now that its paid off.

I had an 06 traded for my 08. The 06 does have more power under 5k rpm but the mid-range power of the 08 is awesome.
If you spend alot of time looking at your bike I can understand why you prefer the 06.
If you spend more time riding the 08 is the way to go.

You aren't going to be able to tell a "night and day difference" riding it a 30 mph down the street.

In this case he's absolutely right. I owned the 04.The 08 makes the 04 look like a sport tourer.

Good for you. It still doesn't change the fact that the 08 is a superior bike.

Yeah well your opinion means nothing to me I want opininions from people with a brain not a childish 19 yr old with his first 1000.
Not my first 1000 by any stretch. I just happened to have the 600RR before this one.

You might want to take a class on using the internet without letting your anger issues get in the way. Some people might think your actions are a little foolish.

Yeah I understand newer bike to some point is better. Less weight better brakes etc., But my point is that most of you 08 owners. What are you going to say about the 2011 model. A Lot of people think that a newer bike is better just cause its new. Well it was always told to me that the rider makes the bike. So you say 1000 isn't a 1000 bikes only change so much hp doest change that much. I say that a person that can ride that 04 and go against someone thatjust got 08 thinking its so much of a better bike, can look bad.Thats my point.

People on 600's can SMOKE riders on liter bikes, that isn't the point. The new 1KRR is hands down the best Honda has built in that class. The 2011 will probably be in my garage as well.

I don't think anyone is denying the new bike is better in many ways. I have seen alot of people in these threads get attacked though for just stating that in their opinion it isnt worth the price difference to them. I was split 50/50 mainly because of the rounded frontfairing, headlights, and the vertical vent in the side fairing of the '08/'09 isn't aesthetically appealing to me. I decided against getting the new bike beacuse I just can't ridea bike I don't like the look of when I'm happy with the bike I have. I don't want to have to spend the cash on custom paint like imzaanedoo(which looks bad-*** I must admit) to fixthe ugly parts. If you like the new look as it is, good for you... I mean that.

I think people forget that the older bikes are still good bikes, they arent crap just because the new one is better. It seems kind of pointless to argue exactly how much better it is because that is subjective. I'll wait and get 2010 model assuming they do another 2 year cosmetic update. Maybe they canfix the oil burning issues by then too [sm=lildevil.gif]
