I run a 180/55/17 no problem - As for the 190-It'll fit, but I've heard the handling isn't good......

YES it will fit as shadow said. Prior to my accident. I was running a Pilot Road Michelin in a 180, but it received a nasty gash straight down the center. Three quarters away around the tire almost as deep as the tread. It was replaced with a Continental Sport Attack in a 190 profile which apparently for some reason. Due to its design appears to run a little wider than everyone else's 190 the ride characteristics of this tire is much different than any tire I have ever ran before I would go so far to say. It's possibly the best street tire I have ever ran. The only drawback, as I can see is the chain guard has to be notched to run it but if you want something to really lay into a corner. This may be the one but I realize you already have the Pilot Road in 190 I would install it and run the hell out of it. Now I will not comment as to its handling ability. I have an acquaintance who ran the 190 pilot Road on the only other CBR 1000f in my area as far as I know and said it handled like a dog. But I let him ride mine yesterday with the sport attack and he was overly impressed. He was checking my suspension setup to see if there was anything different or if it was just the tire making a difference. His final conclusion was. It was the tire so good luck

Smaller tyres always provide better handling though?

coopz, shadow's right. i have around 300miles on my brand new bt-021's and love them . i had a 170 dunlop on the rear before changing and went to the 180 bridgestone's . new tires make all the differance in the world.my mechanic said as shadow say's, you can do it (190) but the handeling is a bit off.

I'm running a 190 on the back of my 95 and I'm going to step back down to the 180. Bigger is not always better (at least in this case)

Thanks for all of the advice. Worst case scenario, maybe i'll buy it and sell for $80.00. From what i'm reading though, I don't think that it will "tickle my fancy" and I have a feeling i'm gonna look for a 180 tire. ..... it sounds like that is a good size for everyone else.

Happy riding!!!!!!
