Talking wierd rattle noise from right side crank case

Some one told me that the rattle noise is normal on an 88' 1000f. Sounds like a quarter in a pop can. Over 2k rpm it goes away.
i did here what sounded the same on a couple youtube vids. If you listen close its there pretty destinked noise.
Does this sound familiar to any one or should i be worried.
Guy said it was the timing chain guide or tentioner??

Is it noisiest when cold, as when you first fire it up? And does the rattling subside after the bike warms up?

In all likelihood, yes, it's probably the cam-chain tensioner. It's a well-documented issue with the Hurricane and not just with certain year models.

With that said, it *could* be something else. Carbs might need balancing. Could be the tupperware rattling, but most likely the tensioner.

Time for a new CCT and Cam Chain, right away since it's rattling all the time, imo

Likely the cam chain/CCT but try adjusting the balancer too. See the how-to:

#1. It's also amazing how many weird noises a good tune up including carb balancing will get rid of. Quite possibly the CCT and/or cam chain though.

Where is the little cover located? How big is it? Do you have to remove the fairing to see it?
