Default What Would You Do?

Got my '93 CBR 1000F a little over a week ago and absolutely love it! I've been sorting out a few odds and ends on it and she really only has one flaw that I don't think I can do much about. The very top of the left upper fairing (where the windshield attaches) is broken off just below the top windshield attachment. Not a big deal, I can live with it.

Meanwhile... I found a super clean '99 CBR 1100XX in better shape and resonably priced. I seriously thinking of trying to snap it up today and sell the '93. What do you guys think? The wife is kool with it either way which is probably the most important consideration.

BUY THIS?

OR KEEP THIS?

Uh oh! Another 'Cane vs. 'Bird dilemma.....

Do what you want, Dao. What's the price difference? Mileage?
Have you ridden them both?

Just a couple thoughts......

Well I figured the opinions might be somewhat biased.

Mileage is similar (both have a bit over 22k). Price...I paid $200 more for my '93 less than two weeks ago! Have not ridden the Blackbird yet.

Something that concerns me is the apparent limited parts availability for my CBR1000F. The BB may not be any better from what I've read.

Honestly, if this was my dilemma (and I had the money, of course), I'd buy 'em both.

I guess that doesn't help. lol..

Shhh....if I could figure out a way to do it I would. I just don't want to start a riot at home!

I'll just go back to mowing the yard and take a ride in a bit. I'll forget all about it by then.

I'm with trout on this one but as I didn't have the space to keep both - I went with the Blackbird.

Couldn't fault my CBR1000F (1991) - other than parts harder to find in the UK.

Can't fault my 1997 blackbird - but did put VFR800vtec bars on it so it felt more like the CBR1000F riding position.

Both do around 175miles to reserve.

Blackbird has better brakes and does handle better - especially with a 6mm spacer over the rear shock.

Thank you for the input Dean0. Kind of my feelings. I can't really find fault with what I have. I'll never push her to her limits, I just ease around, take the wife for a ride here and there. I think both would do about the same job. Ah but the grass is always greener....

One thing I forgot ! - Tyre choice is slightly more restricted on the Blackbird.

You MUST use the "C" rated tyres on it - like all the other 175mph+ and 200kg+ hyperbikes
The higher rated tyres are not available in every type of tyre.
