Thanks Mattson. So did you find out which Rimula then would suit our bikes ? I have no idea what I'm doing when comparing both. I don't want to put in an oil that will do the engine any damage. Cheers.

No, I did not, however since the brands are fully comparable I'd guess Rimula T-6. Already got myself new Castrols so don't got need to get oil right now, but I'm gonna look into it if I remember the next time I'm going shopping for truck parts.

Hmmm... Did a little digging, and got pretty mixed results. Other places state rotella=rimula straight up, others state the chemical mixture of rimula oils is totally different than rotella. Dont know for sure but rimula R6 was often said to be pretty much the same as the rotella t6 but I`d still check the compatibility for wet clutches before buying. Cant even find anything smaller than a 20litre bucket here...

I also had a bit of a look on other bike forums and a few other places and it didnt yield any straight answers. A lot of the discussion centred around opinion and what everyone thought the comparisons were. Some emailed Shell with no definitive answer from them either. I think I will stick with my Castrol GPS Power 1 semi synthetic. From the research I've done on it, it suits my bikes down to a tee and is specifically designed for bike engines. I don't think the Rimula oils that are sold here are suitable for bikes at all from what I have read.

Ditto. I drive around 10k per season so I dont need to change my oils more than once a year so it's pretty much the same what they cost...

Default Oil

I use Delo 400le 15w-40 oil. A guy with a 2011 zx14r recommended I try it. Something about it has a higher detergent content so it cleans the sludge out from the clutch plates better and the clutch has a smoother and faster take up. And I agree, my Kevlar race clutch with this stuff runs pretty well. And at 2-3 bucks a quart, my wallet agrees too.

O and I'm a believer in the 3k mile oil change. I do this in my truck so why not the bike too? This baby is clean all the way through

Each to their own of course but I wouldn't hold to much faith in oil for my bike that costs 2 or 3 bucks a quart which is just under a litre in the language that I understand....lol. You do get what you pay for.

I'm very impressed with it. The oil is for diesel trucks that run constantly. The engine is spotless inside and runs pretty smooth over. The clutch grabs smoothly. I know guys who build race motors and grudge bikes. It's what they use. I see why now. A high price tag doesn't mean it is any better. Look at some name brand clothing. Does it make you any less naked for the price? Lol. I was skeptical at first too about the oil.
