Way funny!

But someone has finally given some very good feedback. I have heard members say that they like their VFR bars but I did not know if they were what I wanted. It sounds like they are the nuts. Thumbs up to davethepom.

Default Final bar position and longer ride.

Harry: Here's three pics of the final position. If Mr. Classic chances upon them he might enlarge them for easier viewing (thanks mate..how do you do that again??) Full lock both sides and straight. I've got to move the right one another couple of mm forward 'cos with winter gloves on (-3c this morning) my thumb needs a bit more room. I'll definately leave the lugs on as ther're not in the way and the extra lift is good. Also I could always sell them if I ever go the fully adjustable bars one day.

I went for a longer ride yesterday and am even happier with the bars. Cruising on the highway is much more pleasant. I could even let go with my left hand and sit almost completely upright every so often. I may, or may not, have tried them out at 160kmh too, and if I did they would have felt fine also..not that I did of course..

When you others get yours on, let the rest of us know what you think.

Can't wait for the ride home..might go the long twisty way.

Shadow: You suggested masking tape under the grips. I've already got foam grips on (hard to tell in pics). Do you think it'd still improve things. Also do you still need to use an adhesive (I use hair spray..not mine, honest!) or does the tape grip enough on its own?

I think there are early and later bars the above are later ones after 94.

OK I've took the plunge and ordered some VFR800 bars from e bay which arrived this morning.

I Measured from the top red line on the pic to the very bottom of the bar which contacts the top yoke, there is a 25mm/1inch difference compared to the bars on my 96 FT
which indicates a the amount of raise on the VFR bars is 1" or 25mm.

As stated the locating tab is in a different place so will need to be removed.

Karlo. Aren't the vfr800 forks 43mm where as our bikes and the vfr750s were 41mm? My '94s are anyway. Even if they are there would be a way around it for sure. Also I left the lugs on mine as the clamps don't stick over the top of the forks and I could sell them easier later on if I ever go the variable ones.

I've never used the foam grips on my 1000F, so not sure........
I didn't use any adhesive but my LHS does need some..........
hairspray ? Nnnnnnnnooooooooooo he he
Maybe a SMALL amount of contact adhesive.

These are supposed to be pre v tec.

advertised as:

HONDA VFR800FI-X 1999 (pre-vtec)

The parts were removed from a well maintained and low mileage year 1999 model but may also fit other models (FI-W; FI-Y; FI-1)
It is in excellent condition and comes with internal anti-vibration weights
