^ All good here, didn't have to change anything. All cover post are intact.

I find it hard to believe that I haven't checked them in 30k miles and they're fine. Years ago when doing the family car they were always off between oil changes, but then again those were push rod engines with rocker arms.

Good to hear

So, how did it go for me then, well you have to see for yourself.

This is after 5 minutes of cranking the engine and I was feeling a bit tense to say the least ..

She sounds good, they don't like any throttle when starting however. Tempting but they don't like it.

The carbs sound a little out of sync now but she sound good.

I'm so happy to hear that you know suddenly I started to hear "strange"
noises I've never heard before. Maybe a little ticking sound from the valves that
hadn't been there before, but better that maybe then having them too tight.
Could be the camshain or tensioner I'm hearing too.

I didn't pull any throttle when starting but when she finally decided to start I
was kinda desperate that she would die on me.
Still I was sooo relieved that she started at all..

^ Change out the oil with some fresh Rotell-T 15w-40 and most of that noise will go away. The rattling noise is most likely due to the balance.

Update, so got my hands on a Carbtune and synced the carbs. Here is how
the engine sounds before, at operating temperature. Think I can hear the
valves ticking but well, it's not that much.

As you can see on the readings here they are somewhat off so it was needed:

And now after, couldn't get it better than this. I'm not sure it made all that difference in the end, maybe a little better?
