You have probably been asked before but I cant find a great deal of information about tyre choices that suit the 'cane'.
Maybe someone that knows what they are doing could set up a poll, then we could all put our tyre brands and give themsome ratings.

I've used Bridgestone 020's and 021's. I'm now on Michelin Pilot Road 2's which I find move about far too much for my liking. Personal choice for outright grip are the 021's. I can't see any tyre bettering them.

I'll show you a picture if you likeof my half worn away brake lever to demonstrate the confidence (stupidity) they inspire!!

This had been beaten to death many times - see earlier posts.I use Michelin Pilot road 2's and have done around 10500 K's on them. Excellent grip and good life - still about 6000K's left and I ride her fairly hard.

Thanks for the input guys, sorry for digging up old stuff.
I will probably go with the Bridgestone 020 or 021, sounds a popular choice for the canes.
Myfront is up for change very soon but the rear seems ok for now.

Hi all, I use the Michelin Pilot Road 2 on my 1993 CBR1000FP and find they are good for me, plenty of grip and stable. However recently we (east coast Australia) have been having some difficulty getting RP2 fronts.
I needed a front for a trip to Phillip Island Moto GP so I got the relatively new Dunlop Sportmax Roadsmart. As my rear tyre was new I had touse two different tyres, not that this is always a problem but some brands just dont go together.
I found that the Dunlop was a top choice, heaps of grip, great wear (so far). Riding with mates on Blackbirds and ZX12s the old girl is working reasonably hard but the bike and tyres were more than up to it
So the Dunlop is another option.

Steve, major brands are OK - just don't try running Shinko's or Dunflops on a 1KF.......
(now waits for debate to erupt.....again)

One of my friends is the Production Manager for the Dunflops factory.
All the bike tyres are imported and I can have them for next to nothing, and I STILL won't fit them.
Shinko's are I think, Chinese or Korean, very hard, no grip, lousy in the wet.
Cheap and nasty IMHO.
