Just about all of my riding in 2019 was leading motorcycle tour groups overseas (India and South Africa) and I felt more safe riding in those countries than I do in Australia. I rode both sidecars a few times, but on Club runs in the hills. With the plague of kangaroos and plague of texting drivers, it definitely isn't what it used to be. I sit out the front of my house with a coffee in the mornings and - I kid you not - 1 in 3 drivers is either on the phone or head down texting. Fines need to be increased to make it prohibitive.

Apart from those minor problems, I still love to ride and will do so until I physically can not any longer. Turning 60 this year so hope I have a couple of decades left!

 

I live smack bang in the middle of Kangaroo country , geez the smell of the rotting carcasses as you ride along this time of year is horrible . My biggest problem with riding in this country ( apart from the roos and phone using ********* ) is actually keeping my licence !
I just find that the CBR just begs me to ride her fast . I mean , I do speed a fair bit on my R1200RT too , but it doesn't almost beg me to ring its neck accelerating out of a corner .

 

Maybe move to the northern territories, where they filmed Mad Max. It seams like good riding roads, except for the blistering heat I hear.
