Default Throttle lock...which one do you use?

The last one I had was a ThrottleMeister, and it made op for being $100 by not really working all that well. What model of throttle lock do you guys use if you use one? I need one for touring to give my wrist a break once in a while.

Thanks!

EDIT: I tried another search...figured that there had to be a thread somewhere, and I found one. Is the one linked below the right model for a 94 CBR1000F?

Yup, I think that one will fit. I've got one myself, but I don't like them that much. Not that the Vista Cruise is bad in any way, I just don't like the concept. Sure, on a totally level road it's ok, but the minute it's slightly downhill or uphill you have to adjust. Try one of those Trottle Rockers instead: http://www.throttlerocker.com/

I have the same Vista Cruise on mine, works like a charm! only thing that's a bit annoying, is that the screw needs adjustment from time to time. It might happen that when I press the lever, it won't lock, so I need to tighten the screw a bit. I always check it before going on a long trip.

I Have full cruise control on my other bike. But this is electronic and works the same as cars. Mate had a lock on his bike and as Steve says its not my idea of fun, don't think they are safe. Cruise control is because no matter what you touch, brakes or clutch it's knocked off straight away. What about one of those palme rests which goes on the throtle grip?

Not a fan of the non electronic ones myself mostly because of the safety factor. My wrists hold up good courtesy of regular excercise with Arthur Guinness.

I have that same model VistaCruise. I use it for my 1000F and the 600 F3. I'm not abdicating riding for miles at a time with no hands on the handle bars, but it's nice to take a break once in a while. I had to modify the length of the thumb lever because at full right lock it will hit the tank. (no, I don't ride at full right lock with the cruise on, but if it gets pressed in the down position while moving the bike around, I don't want it to hit the tank)

The throttle rocker looks like a great idea. It appears as though it may also be a great addition to the deadly treadly too.

I got a cheap rubber strap on throttle rocker and it works well for giving my wrist a break. They don't cost much to try so if you don't like it you are not out much. The hardest part is adjusting it not to interfere with normal throttle use.

Good Luck.

I've got one of those palm rest things. Only cost a bit over $10 AUS. It works a treat, but I got it more for finger rest than wrists. It might help though, as I can take all my weight off and wiggle my fingers around whilst still having throttle control. Have you got standard bars?
