Default Throttle Lock

Need some advice on selecting a throttle lock for my '91 CBR1000F. I've looked at several, and the Throttle Meister looks to be the one. If anyone has any that they have used or suggest, please let me now.

Thanks,
Brian

That's the one I have. A little hard to set up at first, but it works great. I also think it's the safest as it shuts off when you back off the throttle.

You will need to pull your bar weight on the throttle side to insert the mechanism.

I've had ThrottleMeisters on 2 bikes, and they are cool, but they don't do anything that a $15 thumb operated lock doesn't do (except that the thumb ones are easier to deploy). I've got one on my 94 and it works great.

I bought one a few years back for something like $12. It is thumb operated and cheap, but it works fine. Do not recall the make.

I had the ThrottleMeister on an other bike and at first I liked it, but soon grew weary of how it has to be set. You have to hold your throttle at the setting you want and then try to rotate the lock, which is the bar-end to engage it. I would not get it again. I did get a Vista Cruise for my Hurricane, but i could never get it to adjust properly, so now it sits in my backpack, waiting for me to mess with it again.

I recently took a 120 mile trip and didn't feel any need for a throttle lock at all.

Same for me. I wouldn't have a bike without this one (thumb operated lock).

I have a Throttlemeister on my 1000RR and like it a lot. I mainly bought it because you can select from a variety of different bar end designs and also the throttle cables on the 1kRR are mounted opposite of what they are on some other bikes as they come out of the handgrip housing. A regular throttle lock would not work without the thumb tab being on the wrong side of the bar.

It's not too hard to set. If you have the spacing set according to the instructions you can twist the Throttlemeister all the way on and then turn the throttle to whatever position you want and it will hold it.
