I replaced the alternator chain without breaking the engine, opening and closing the chain. The chain tensioner jammed, I filed my teeth, I inserted a new spring and reassembled. Zero noise. Now I always think of replacing that tensioner. It's been a long time and I don't remember the details of the job anymore. I remember that from the under cup it was possible to access the two close bolts of the tensioner, the third was above the gearbox gears and not accessible, is it possible to disassemble this third bolt? Even disassembling a gearbox gear? Has anyone ever tried it? In the case of opening the engine between the two parts, does any particular sealant work?
