Default Strange Thing

Filled the gas tank and drove a few miles at about 40 MPH (KPH ???) got stuck as a stop light for a few minutes and when I took off the bike bogged down. After a few seconds it ran normally but I smelled fuel when I shut it off. Don't see any leak and now it runs fine. Ideas? Anyone ever see this? Vent line problem?

It almost sounds like the vent tube for the tank was partially clogged. Maybe if I get to ride my bike again this year I might look to see where all the vents go.

I had the same problem. I replaced the vacuum line and rerouted the vent line under the tank carefully to fix it.

Oh I forgot..I blew the vent line w/ compressed air too and inspected the petcock filter.

Only other causes I can think of would be a sticky choke cable or a stuck float.........
