Starting issues, again!
1990 CBR1000f....
Ok so I think my starter solenoid is bad but I am not sure. I just recently replaced my Alternator Damper which worked great!! Damn bike has never started so quickly!! (well since I have owned it anyway).
When I try to start all I get is a click in the solenoid.
I tested voltage before the solenoid and it is 12+v and after the solenoid it is 5+v...
Would that be a faulty solenoid?
OH! AND!! the for plug connector next to the solenoid was like toattly fried so I cut off the connector and crimped on new female connectors and hooked it back up. Didn't help my situation but needed to be done. Fuse is good BTW.
I tryied jumping the solenoid but it doesnt seem to be working.
Anyone else have this issue?

OK so I figured it out! Battery was good and the new solenoid was needed cause the other one fried. My question was... Why did the solenoid go? Its cause the starter was grounding out internally and fried the solenoid... I think. But the starter was grounding out internally. Took it off and bench tested it. Wouldn't spin and arced when testing. So I took it apart to see what was going on. What had happened was, when I had taken it apart before some of the shims came loose during reassembly and I didn't notice. So they wedged themselves all up in the motor grounding it out. Did some damage too. Took some sand paper and smoothed everything out and cleaned it all up. Reassembled, re bench tested it. Works great. Reinstalled and everything works great. Now I just need to get it started. I think I may have fouled the plugs... Pulled them out and they were wet and black. Cleaned them off but it still won't start.

After replacing the solenoid I had just the click click.
After tearing down and fixing my previous F-up with the starter it cranks over great.
Just can't get her to start. Might be the plugs. They were quite wet, seemed fouled.
