I'm not sure if the newer year ones will work on you '87. The older ones (87-88) the speedo cable runs off the front wheel if I'm not mistaken.... while the newer ones 90+ don't. It may be a different length/connection or whatever.

If you can, maybe order one like this one: 87-88 1000F Speedo cable
It's listed by the same person, so he may be able to list it for you on Ebay Canada. (I don't think he actually has it listed there, but only on Ebay US)

As far as the brand... motion pro ....they make a bunch of stuff. I would think it would be ok.

Another thought I just had... you can get a part unlimited speedo cable from Dennis Kirk for like $14US. They say it's an OEM quality cable and they ship internationally. It's part #C7001J. I think you have to order it but ask them (through email) how much international shipping is before you pay them so you can decide if the shipping is too much. Never done it before....

As Trout says buy the correct one for your year - the 89-92 fit to the front drive sprocket, not like yours which runs off the front wheel......
VG response there, Troutkin

thanks for the reply guys. I didn't know where to go because I am looking into purchasing a RIMS and Wheels off of a 1990 CBR1000f and thought I had to get a cable from the same year. Even if I get the sprocket cover from the 90 model I still need the speedo cable from the 87.

I don't think the speedo drive from the 87 will fit the 90 front wheel. I also don't know if your brake discs, calipers etc will fit either. You'd better check......
Why are you changing the front wheel ? Is it just to fit a 120 tyre size ? If so, you can fit a 120 on an 87 rim......

If he takes a newer heel in front , the old spacer won't work witht the new one, so no more speedo,, i purchased the front spocket cover of a 94 and converted to the speeedo being driven by the front sprocket same as you, besides the spacher and sprocket cover he has to get the cable of a 92 and later model so the lenght will be ok.

melacur try hamel Honda in ST-Eustache theses parts are cheap, not worth to go by ebay you'll end up paying more because pof shipping.

For the sprocket cover go ebay, the price of a new one is 260$
