cam and valves
My bike is a 87 1000f.My cams and valve stems are at there service limits. How long can I get out of them as is? What are my options, if any? I love the ride but a new set of cams and valves are probley more then the bike is worth. I can do the work myself but parts alone will run me around 800 bucks. Any info is good info. Thanks

As Pete asked , what miles are on her ??
Ove never heard of that ever being as issue full stop with 1000F's ??
and BTW ...these engines blowing are pretty rare too ...
Engines over 20 years old are not meant to be anywhere near a micrometer .... LOL

If it makes you feel at ease I'm over 92,000 and mine are moving along just fine and they have never been replaced. We just did the CCT and Cam Chain and mine looked just fine. I'm pretty easy on her, but the previous owner was a jack *** and rode her hard. Again 92K plus and mine are just fine...
