Default Single Seat Cowl for 1000F

Impossible to find!!
Wreckers,Ebay,Honda Australia,etc etc.

So,with a little common sense[lol] have a go yourself,make your own..........

Utmost important,think ahead.............!

1.Do a prototype fitment using card board, design, the shape to suit.
2.I went one further, too less than 1 mm sheet metal, great fit but couldnt get the curve correct at the very end.
Pics...

Went to a fibreglass shop,bought what i wanted,for $35.

Too start off your process,Masking tape the whole seat that isn't part of the process.
Too make your cowl ,Glad wrap[cling film] your section at least 3 times,Mask underneath the seat also.

Use the Dummy[s] to cut your profile from the matting.
Lay Matting straight on the seat, start pasting with your chemical kit.
1st layer is easy, let cure overnight[was 90+ degrees here],lay the 2 nd layer ,pasting the previous layer, then go for it!

Pics...........

Let cure overnight, lot off excess to trim off,but learn how you go.

Mine pulled clear of the seat,no damage via chemicals whatso-ever.

Problems i found.......!
1.Air bubbles from the 2nd layer.
2.Body Filler/Spray putty will play a huge part in this proto-type..........lol

As it was yesterday.....
Pic.....

* As of today, ready for Painting.
*I do not take responsibility for others acting on this information, with their own property.
*Gell pack ,Master Mould is already ordered,to mass produce for 1000F customers.

How do you plan on fastening the cowl to the bike?

It might be a plan to "wrap" the bottom of the mould slightly under the seat to allow it to grip.......There should be enough flex if it's only two layers of glass.
I thought your metal effort was outstanding too - could you not have sorted the profile with an english wheel ? Seems like a lot of effort and sooooo close !

BTW Rob the pics don't work in your last

If you wanted a bit more shape you could layer sponge or paper mache onto the seat before glassing over it, just a thought
