Very true TK. However, I've noticed a significant difference, in the reaction of my right wrist, these days (44, wife, 15 and 12 year old kids) than when playing on my GPZ 1170 (very tweaked) at the age of 20. I just hope, mk4, that you're a calm, mature individual or this isn't your first bike.

If this is your first large bike, don't be intimidated by it, but don't take the power too lightly either! If you crack the gas wide open you'll be doing warp speed in a couple of seconds and it will take a while to loose that speed, due to the weight of the mighty cbr1000f.

Be steady at first and get used to it at your own pace. Don't bother trying to stay with any riding mates if the pace gets uncomfortable, just have fun yourself, at your own pace!

Keep us posted on your progress and press on with the repairs. It'll be well worth it.

An update.

Some days, she'll idle as long as I want her to. Other days, I need to give a little throttle to keep her running. Startup is a little rough sometimes, but once warm, a restart is quick.

Still white a bit of racket on startup and at low rpms.

Is there any kind of adjustment I can do to quiet her down? I might try to upload some audio to let you guys hear the sounds.
