Hello all
My 88 1000 has been sitting for a couple weeks due to the cold, snowed last night about an inch. Very warm today 45f, started it up and after a couple minutes I smelled that unmistakeable smell, antifreeze. I looked down and noticed some on the ground. I shut it down and and started it back up and saw a small drip coming from the middle of the radiator. I have never taken off the fairings, just hoping to see if there are any ideas out there and what side I should take off to have a look.

Damn it I was hoping to go for a nice ride today

I'm from Adelaide too. Down here we don't have the problem of freezing even though I've met people from cold climates that say they never felt cold till they came here.
Ok enough rabble. To check the radiator you need good access. For the sake of five minutes more remove both sides of the fairing. It's not hard. Start from the bottom & work up. You will soon see what needs to be removed which can vary depending on weather your bike is stock or not. Take your time & you will see it's not hard. Keep the screws in order as they are different lengths for different parts. You shouldn't need to take off the top part with the screen as the radiator can be removed with the belly & two sides removed.
Hope it's only a hose & not the radiator.

you can back out a page and find you fairings or covers they might becalled and see how they come off also. good luck and i hope its not the radiator , it looks pricey.
