Default Sand Blasting Cans????

I am thinking of Sand blasting my Cans. So I can go back to the original looking CBR. I was thinking of getting them Chromed for more power...
My Rims are polished so the Chrome would kinda match.

I was also thinking about getting them powder coated. I am asking for your opinions. Thanks

I have always heard Chrome adds +5 or +6 hp. It is like adding stickers

My 87 has very sexy original black chrome cans. Apparently the equivalent horsepower increase of chrome plus three stickers. I'm thinking about putting an H.D. sticker on it somewhere to try and slow it down a bit.

C'mon Joseph, everyone knows it's an established fact that chrome adds horse power, otherwise why would Hardley Abelson cover their big powerful bikes with the stuff

When I was a young fella' these stickers were highly sort after to apply to the cans. Instant + 5bhp.

I thought Harleys were proof that chrome actually reduces power.

No Joseph you're looking at it from the wrong end. What you need to do is imagine how unpowerful (is that a word?) they would be without the benefit of all that chrome.

But we digress : Indy, would powder coat work? I have always kind of thought of that stuff as a reasonably low temperature kinda thing.

Supplementary question : has anyone ever whacked a surface thermometer onto their cans to find out what temp they do actually run at?

I think the Harley Chrome deal was meant to go with the Chrome Dome attributes of
most of it's rider base.

Maybe I could just strip the paint off and polish them....

The cans would match the rims then...Just thinking aloud.
