ah , I use the short wide rubber bands they use on Lobster claws
to keep them from dismantling each other, then inject through the
rubber band with a syringe filled with a synthetic lube.

Old Mainer way if doing things - ayuh

Tried her again this morning and she started first time from cold, but didn't want to run for long on the choke. Turned the choke off and kept her running with the throttle. Once she's warmed up it was a very fast tick over, so adjusted the idle blipped the throttle a couple times, then it was slow, adjusted again, blip blip and she was idling at 4000rpm so I've ordered one of them do-hickeys same as Pete's. Yours looks good Dub but if I can get one to do the same job at a quarter of the price I'll try it. If it doesn't work, then I'll replace the cables.
