Default Replacement ignition barrel

This is my first post on here so first a quick hello to everyone.

I have a 1988 CBR1000F and last night someone decided to attack the ignition with a screw driver.
I suppose it was in some vain hope of getting it started which wouldn't have got them very far considering the bright orange disk locks attached to both the front and rear disks!!!
I can now start the bike with just a twist of anything pointy so I need a replacement barrel and key.
There seems to be a few on ebay for newer, 93 onward bikes, but none for my particular year.
Will a newer one fit my 88 or will I need to be specific about the model year.

Thanks in advance.

Rick

Welcome to the CBR Forum Rick,

Bummer that someone tried to steal your bike, but good for you by having the disc locks!

Now to your question, a quick Google search found this.....

Ignition Switch Honda CBR1000 1991 1992 - Motorcycle Products UK

HONDA CBR1000F HURRICANE Emgo Ignition Switches - Free Shipping on Orders Over $99 at PowerSports Place

boxedup | 1988 Honda Hurricane Cbr1000f Cbr 1000 F Ignition Switch (no Key)

Hopefully something in that lot will help.

Cheers, SB

Hi Sebastionbear
Thanks for the welcome and the links. As it happens I found what I needed on Amazon for £20.00. Obviously a cheap copy but it should get the job done.
Thanks again.
Rick

+1 and welcome

Sounds like the disk locks paid for themselves.
