Bordo, my take on the subject is that the springs most likely are fine.

They're like valve springs, you don't need to replace them if you rebuild the head. Clutch springs get used less than valve springs as they are used only when the lever is pulled.

I have upgraded clutch springs in the past when I modified the engine to the point that the standard springs could not lock up the plates with the added power. It also added OMG heavy leaver pull before the days of hydraulic clutch.

Its just my opinion but money not needed to be spent unless you know the springs are truly bad.

Thanks Tim,
I ended up getting Barnett springs for around 30 dollars to my door off fleabay so not much money involved there. I've gone with those springs and EBC standard friction plates. I'll report back once I have them in. Cheers.
