Received my EBC clutch kit, but..............
It only included diaphragm springs. Can I use them in place of the coil springs or in conjunction with them? I have found little help on the EBC site.
The clutch is so simple but not this complicates it.
Please give ma all the feedback you have asap, waiting to install, have all parts now and discs soaking.
As usual, THANK you for all ur assistance.

Can you post a photo? All the kits I've ever put in bikes, including the Goodridge one I put in my cbrf, have had coil springs the same as the originals. Hopefully one of the other guys will be more help with the springs.
Give the steel plates a bit of a figure 8 rub on a smooth concrete floor to roughen them up a bit, then clean them.

Yeah I'm stumped too I thought the kit came with "heavy duty" coil springs
I'm sure they could be used, no experience myself with them either, no matter , I'd be old school on this and snag a set of springs on ebay
or try and get the vendor to send you a coil spring set for free

Yep, pisses me off, I am ready to put it in and now this. Tried to email ebc but don't think it went through. Any idea if these clutch plates and discs fit later model cbr's? On the ebc site it indicated that later model sportbikes use the diaphragm springs, The think looks like a saucer, it is concave and open in the middle, somewhat like a "spring washer".
Hope some one has some experience with this.

Well reading this LINK on from EBC on both types .....this stands out as self explanatory
Seems to me either way EBC kinda promotes coil springs over diaphragm type
Sets
coil springs on Ebay right now are $10 tops
If you do wish to upgrade the clamp load and your bikes is fitted with a diaphragm spring clutch kit buy an EBC Brakes spring kit, all of which are built with 10-15% more clamp pressure than stock.

Just to get you back on the road quickly, why not just chuck it in with the old springs until you get some new heavy duty ones? Measure the length and see of they're within spec. I don't have that info to hand but it should be in the manual.
It's such a p!ss easy job to change them later and the worst that can happen is that the clutch will slip slightly due to the old springs. You might find it works fine and you're back in business.
Just a thought to get you back in the saddle mate.
