Rear Sprocket Carrier

Rear Sprocket Carrier
Howdy.
I'm about to mount a new rear sprocket to the sprocket carrier and I
notice that there is a bump of metal on the carrier in between two of the
mounting stud holes. I know I'm not describing this very well, but it looks
to be there as a weight offset or something. I'm completely guessing on
this. I did not notice how it was oriented on the wheel before I took the
damn carrier off. Anyone have a clue what I'm talking about? It's almost
like if the carrier were a clock, this metal bump would be like a stationary
arm which I'm assuming was purposefully placed there to sit specifically
relative to something. Opposite the tire valve maybe?
Pics .... (the nub is facing high noon in both)

Any suggestions?

RE: Rear Sprocket Carrier
[sm=bounceybounce.gif]sorry, cant find anything to support your theory. Checked all my photos and can say that it does'nt appear to be an issue. Might be wrong but mine is in a different position to yours and when your rear cog goes on you can have the wheel ballanced.
