Question re alternator damper plates

There is a tab that needs to be bent to get the damper out (and bent back when replaced!) but I don't believe that is what SB is referring to. If you're familiar w/ automatic tensioners they tend to have a spring loaded mechanism with a toothed wheel on them. I can't vouch for this system as this was a non-issue for me. I kept sufficient pressure on the chain. Mine went back on easy as pie.
