Pilot Road 3 front tyre Cupping
try this,
after a couple of tyres cupping on me,,,,
a very old tyre man who remembers cross-ply tyres
told me to stick a couple of k on it and bring it back to him for a re-balance
it's only happened once since because i blew the weights off with the pressure washer.
track day friend says if he stuck a tyre on and put it round the track without balancing it, it would only last half the time.
there's something right in it,,, but between me and a track racer, there is still some blame in riding style too.

One of my favourite local routes is a bit like a goat track but has awsome twisties. Some of the right handers are steeply rutted with course / sharp edged reinstated bits of road + tar snakes. You can almost feel the rubber ripping diving through some of them right handers & i wouldn't be surprised if this sort harsh road treatment + the cbr's weight is attributing to some premature wear on the front.

Still.........won't complain otherwise they'd widen / straighten it & then you'd get **** loads of sunday drivers !
fwiw, Lately, riding the Rimutakas is like riding to work amongst traffic congestion, thanks to the removal of some passing lanes & ongoing road widening / straightening + double yellows !
