Picked this up for $500 on CraigsList
Hi, I am new to the forum and wanted to show you Guys what I found on craigslist in miami for $700.00 . It was a girl who owned it and she listed it for $700 for parts or fix. I went to go see it and found out that it was sitting for 8 months out in the rain. She listed it as for parts or fix and I asked why? Well turns out only thing it had wrong was it needed the starter relay solenoid thing and the front wheel bearings were beyond gone. She said the starter cranks when it wants to and that the front wheel weights fell off and the wheel wobbles violently above 10mph. Immediately I knew the relay was the problem and that the wheel wont wobble violently due to the weights. I told her that I can not give her $700 because I dont know if it runs or not. Well I talked her down to $500 with the clean title and towed it home. The bike has 21,000 miles.
To make a long story short, I removed all the stupid Superman stickers, glued on diamonds, and fixed everything rigged or broken. I synced the carbs, tune up, changed all fluids and balanced wheels. Also I painted it myself because I could not stand to look at the ugly crayola orange any longer. Since then I've already put over 400 miles with my girl friend on the back. I love this bike. It handles, rides, and is super powerful especially after the Nitrous install for the track. Its very comfortable also.
Here are some pics before and after. Sorry for the long story

Thanks, I am really starting to love this bike. It runs soo good. Also when I get off it after riding 1 hour straight I dont feel pain unlike my buds who ride the new crotch rockets. If your wondering it a 1995 CBR 1000F. I could not find the 1000F decals after I painted it so I used the CBR 1000RR decals and was going to cut off the RR part but it grew on me. I just tell people its a old 1000RR. It has the common timing or alternator chain rattle but just for like 30 seconds in cold start.
I thank you guys for everything you have posted about 1000F's. I have learned a lot. Next I will chrome the wheels and hook up the mirror leds.

Again thanks.
The mirrors I bought off ebay for $25 carbon print with led's.
The grab handle I did polish on my own also.
The mufflers are the same ones that were on the bike which are hayabusa stock mufflers completely gutted out which I wrapped in carbon sleeve. I get a ton of compliments on how the bike sounds, simply amazing. I am not too crazy about the wrap on the mufflers, so I am going to send them to be chrome plated in the future for the look I originally wanted. I tried to polish them but its too hard, so I gave up and put them in a sleeve. The bikes come a long way I think.

Yes the mirrors fit like factory Hawkwind. These are the mirrors you have seen on ebay. The mirrors are available in chrome, black, carbon fiber, and with or with out amber led's. If you ask me they are well worth in and weigh less too. The only issue I had was when i first hit the road with them at 70mph they were starting to fold in. You have to tighten the hell out of the allen screw and nut. So far now they hold to 125mph. It just scares me to tighten the metal screws for the adjusting arm soo much cause the arm is plastic.
