^^ Yep.

I got lucky because the previous owner of mine wouldn't let me leave until he found the cap wrench to send home with me (nice steel one, too). He insisted it was necessary. He was a real cool guy, actually...

But yeah... where'd ya go, NE??
I hope that filter didn't send ya to the nuthouse....

I'm still here. I have been under the weather for the past few weeks so I haven't been back in the garage. And this week I'm going to FT. Myers FL with the family. Trust me the next time I work on the bike, it's coming off!!!

Youre a good man to put family first!! I would put a halt on everything until it came off. A family conference!

Mine was an absolute bitch the first time, too. I tried a number of tools, and finally got it to turn with a big pair of channel-lock pliers. Couldn't turn it but a few millimeters, but if you can get it to turn a little, the other tools should work. I replaced it with a slightly longer filter--a tip from this forum--so now the end is much easier to reach should another one get stuck.

Of course, I also had a bitch of a time changing my wheel bearings. They were rusted to the hub and impossible to move. So count your blessings.

Then there was the time I changed the oil in my girlfriend's Suzuki Grand Vitara. I am now looking for a new girlfriend so I don't have to do that again. I put synthetic oil in, so I might hang around for another 25k miles or so.

Well after taking a break from my garage. I took the fam to Florida to see the Grandparents. When I got back, I was ready to attack the Damn Oil Filter From Hell. I don't know what it was, maybe all of my previous attempts, but it came off with little effort. I was looking for a candid camera. i couldn't beleive it. So, feeling pretty good I kept going.
- bled the brakes
- bled the clutch, glad i did, there was some nasty sludge in the reservoir
- oh ya I changed the oil after getting the Oil Filter From Hell off.

Yep, that was me. I came over and loosened it while you were gone. The vid is uploading to youtube right now... LOL..

Glad you got it off, man. I guess it doesn't matter why it came off easy... just matters that it's off and didn't screw anything up.
