Off Season Plans?
For those of us in the G.W.N. (Great White North) and have to eventually put our bikes away, what are your plans for the winter maintenance / upgrades?
Myself, after recovering from shoulder surgery tomorrow:
1. repair / replace exhaust headers and a new muffler
2. replace rubbers on balance shaft
3. reinstall aux lights and re-wire them for the fourth time (I redo the wires every time, using a PIAA switch this time)
4. if I have time, replace the swingarm bearings

ive got a lot, really. its going to be a long winter.
- remove back half of exhaust for measurements on custom shorter to be made over the winter
- projector headlight retrofit
- LED (integrated) tail light project
- lower the bike some more
- find some pod filters that fit to my liking (currently running nothing, not even the stock air box )
- potentially repaint it, but im not so sure i care that much yet

Yesterday put the snows on the car and today there are flurries.
Two days ago I mounted my solar charger/tender/de-sulfcator to the front of the garage and ran wires to all bikes. No heat out there so I'm done. The 1kF is running like crap in this cold anyway. I need to move the mains up a notch, this ethanol with cold air is raising hell.
I may try to get the DR in the house for chain and sprockets in the living room.
Sprock, give me some advanced warning about the de-link. I think I still have some stock in the garage for the brackets. I can pull mine and use them as a template on the stock. I have the time to do it as I finished my fall outages and don't want to get cabin fever.
Re-loading, skiing and drinking beer is the plan for the next couple of months.

Off season? What's that?
Last year my low cutoff for riding was 26 degrees (only due to face-shield icing).
This year I am raising it a tad to 30 degrees, but I'll still ride year round.
The '90 is a tad hard to get going, but once it's warm it runs like a top even below freezing. I'm hoping the coil/wire/boot set I just picked up off of a '91 with 7000 miles on it helps.

That's why I have a powder check in line. I does come in handy. Actually it came in handy twice for a lite load. Sticking lead down the tube sucks also.
It was 20F (-7C) when I got up today. No bikes are moving out there. First time I had to use my heavy coat.
