I've been working myselfquite a lot with nitrous oxide on drag race cars, and also read someabout motorcycle applications. In general, nitrous oxide can give a good horsepower and torque increase like 40%. A kit with all accessories needed is about $1000. You need to retard the pre-ignition during the time nitrous oxide is injected, since it makes the fuel to burn much faster, and also to supply extra fuel. In fact it is just the extra fuel that can be burnt by the addition of nitrous oxide that gives the power increase. The power increase is also very abrupt when nitrous oxide plus more fuel is activated, making it usable only when you are in a straight line with a motorcycle. You can have progressive nitrous controller but that will add a lot to the cost and the duration of an expensive nitrous oxide bottle fill is still only about a minute. So, the end result is that is not really anything to consider for road driving on a day-to-day basis, but it works very well for drag strip use. In case one needs to improve the power on a road driven bike, it's better to get a free flowing exhaust system and tune the bike.
