The front nose section from a Blackbird has been fitted in the past, do a search you may find the thread.

The manual advises cylinder pressures of 150-206 PSI at 400 RPM.
Don't be too concerned if they're slightly lower than this though as long as they're not too dissimilar. I've been running my '91 with compression readings of about 125 ish for two years and it hasn't made a jot of difference to the kick up my **** when twisting the right hand.
Good luck. Your call if you buy it. It's a gut thing.

If that noise is a vacuum leak, the first thing I would check is the rubber plugs for the sync ports. They can fall off, and then you have a major vacuum leak. After I did a sync on mine, I dropped one of the little buggers under the carbs and never found it. I had to use a rubber plug from my Jeep.

It really could be just an exhaust gasket making that noise (like Steve or one of the others suggested). If that's the case, I'd grab it. Just the V&H (same as mine by the looks) cost me more than that!

well guys i went and done did it. i bought the bike. picked her up for 425 bucks. and even got a haynes hardback manual to go with it. the bike has 39000 miles on it. read it wrong when i looked at it last. i figure if i cant get her running right then i should be able to part it out and get my money back, i hope. think its going to need some new tires. but i get to get her running right first. ill post up some pic of her in the next couple days.

well i just got back from a 2 hour trip to pick up a parts bike. most of the plastics i needed are on this one and it has brand new tires. its a 90 though so a little bit different but it will work. the bike has 75k miles and no title but it was worth the 300 bucks. ill get pics of this one later. 2 bikes in one day im not sure if i just wasted money or if i got a deal only time will tell

Sounds like your on your way to some serios fun, enjoy putting it all together. Lets face it, for just over $700 you have a lot to play with to get a decent ride.
