new to CBR, Bike won't fire
I know most of this is probably old hat to the long time owners but I purchased this bike from a guy parting out a wreck and I couldn't help but try to resurect it. This bike was abandoned in Flagstaff AZ after the owner had lowsided and tore it up. I purchased the bike and I can get it to turn over fairly well but there is no fire at the plugs. There is 12 v at the cdi box by the tail but I'm not sure it is triggering the plugs. Any ideas would be helpful. I don't have a manual for it either. Thanks

Welcome to the forum ! Your firing problem could be any one of a dozen things, the first to check is battery power - these bikes don't fire on anything but a well-charged battery.(Just because it turns over doesn't mean it'll fire-see other posts on this issue this month) If you have spark at the cdi that's a good sign......what year is the bike ? I have a couple of cdi's for earlier models FH and FJ if it's faulty........Coils (under the tank) could also be damaged, or the wiring from cdi to the coils.........

check the troubleshooting section
Wiring diagrams aren't in the manual - if you need those, let me know.

I'm sorry it is an 87 or 88. I have a Wire diagram from a friend but it is in either German or Italian ( His bike was shipped from Belgium. I'll have to purchase a new Batt as the one I'm using is from my KZ900 and has some miles on it. I tried your link for a manual but it won't open.
