I'm looking at getting a new battery for my bike. I can tell it's not starting with the same enthusiasm as it once did. I've checked the voltage at the battery and it's within spec at 5K rpm. Any suggestions on brands to look for, or stay away from ? The part number is YB14L-B2. Anyone have any experience with the Odyssey line of batteries ?

 

I replaced the battery in my 96 last winter. I looked for an Odyssey locally but didn't have any luck. I went over to Batteries America and bought one of their "Extreme" AGM sealed batteries. I think it's a gel cell but I'm not sure. It's totally sealed.
It's been fine so far and it starts quicker with the battery.
I keep it on a Battery Tender as well.
