Default Need to draw from your wealth of knowledge

Going to Daytona in march and need some maintenance thoughts before the trip. Just changed oil and replaced battery last week.
The bike has 46K miles on it, I just bought it about 18 month ago.
At that time I changed all fluids, including brake and clutch.
Brake pads are good, tires good, No indications of any current/pending issues.
Trip will be about 1000 miles round trip.
I am not really financially prepared to take this trip, but what the hell, I am gona do it anyway I think. The reason I mention that is I only want to do what I "have to" to make the trip successfully. I will be riding with 2-3 other guys on cruisers and speed should be 70-75 tops ( u know how that goes)
Thanks in advance for your input.

If I were you, I may check and see how your charging voltages look. Just make sure they're in spec.
I'd probably run a bit of carb cleaner through her and then run her good for a few days too.

You also didn't mention how your chain and sprockets are holding up. I'd give them a good cleaning, lube, and adjustment before you go.
Also check your tire pressures.

Otherwise... it sounds like a good time.

Just run a spanner over the rest of it, lube all your pivot points and check fluids. Chain and sprockets, as Dylan mentioned, then hop on and enjoy yourself mate! Take some chain lube and tools to adjust it just in case.

Aside from keeping the chain lubed and adjusted it sounds like you're good to go.
I take mine further than that with less prep and its still going.

Check all bearings ( wheels and swingarm ) and I always make a habit of checking fork seal condition by seeing if there is any oil or dirt collecting on the forks. Make sure all indicators, brake lights, headlights are good to go. And because its not a big job to get to it on these bikes I usually pull the air cleaner and blow it out before I go on a big trip. A coolant level check is also a must. Cheers.

Sounds like you are good to go.

Lube the chain before you go and when you get there. I go about 500-600 mi between lubes. High speed runs you will need to lube more often. Just don't forget to pack the chain lube.

As mentioned before, check tire pressure.

Did Daytona back in 05', make sure you get to the speedway early to sign up for demo rides. Also if you feel like sightseeing, just take 1A north and keep going till you get to St Agustine.

With any kind of trip [car, bike or plane] the most useful thing to do is to take twice as much money as you intended to. Betcha still don't come back with any.

Have a blast, keep the shiny side up.
