Out of curiosity do you know exactly what plugs are in it ?

I read thru the entire thread, it was aimed toward the idle issue but I'm glad you got it figured out and it wasn't anything really major.

I had an issue with getting her started when she was cold before I adjusted the valves cause the choke would literally choke it out but that was the only issue I had starting wise and the adjustment cleared that right up.

If you happen to see a 1000 out there with only the 2 front fairings and everything painted flat black then that's probably me, guy I work with thought it was a ducati monster from a little distance as I have no rear fairings and a 5" round headlight on the front.

Damned straight throw those mudders right there out the window - imo
never had anyluck with platinums myself

Just buy regular or if you want to some cash get some iridiums

I kinda got hooked on using the now defunct splitfire brand lately
anytime old stock shows on Ebay I grab em cheap - they give a whopping
huge spark imo - bikes love 'em - works great with the stick coil mod.

sprock i was actually speaking of how for some reason when my bikes hot and i pull my plugs if i bump the starter just like 3 rolls nothing as far as spark on any for first roll second roll i get spark out of #1 third roll #2 and #3 fire....now same story for about 10 rolls over, a real good hold on the button and then finally #4 will start to fire like 1

real question is will stick coils solve this??? or is this further back than my distributor coil

Stick coils will fix a lot of things..........baldness, wars, pregnancy, scrofula (look it up ) and even poor fiscal policy, but I'm not sure they'll fix your starting problems.

They won't hurt, you will have a lovely fat spark delivered when it should be and you'll look at them and say "Dang, why didn't I do that sooner".

I'm still thinking slow crank (damper) or lack of adequate fuel getting to the cylinders to mate up with the spark.

Cheers, SB
