Many people over here (US) use Rotella T oils in our bikes as a cheaper alternative to more expensive moto oils. Rotella T won't hurt your bike. However, you guys don't have Rotella in Oz. You have Rimula, but I'm not sure which Rimula formula would be the equivalent of Rotella T. It may also not even be any cheaper for you guys....I don't know.

Rotella T here is $11/gal for dino and $20/gal for the synthetic. Great oil, and cheap.

Yup !
A bunch of us are sick of paying $20 per litre for bike oil.
Rimula/Rotella work fine.

Ya, not only does it work fine, it is in fact every bit as good in every way as even the most expensive motorcycle-specific oils. I've been sending oil samples off to Blackstone labs for many years, on street and race bikes, and I've yet to test an oil that out-performed Rotella-T syn in any way. This inclused stuff like the $14/qt Motul stuff, and many others.

Good stuff, Dave.
I think I remember talking to another guy who did some testing on it, too, and found that it was consistently better than Amsoil at the same interval in his thumpers. (at least on viscosity)

I want a Rotella ballcap, but they're hard to come by unless you own a fleet...
Hey, maybe I could write them a letter on behalf of all us guys and score some Rotella swag? That would be sweet!

To be fair, I have tested Amsoil twice, and it is excellent oil. It is one of the ones that Rotella did not outperform (it was essentially a tie with Mobil-1, and one other I can't remember, and Rotella-T for the best I've ever tested). But, it's 3x the price, so in that manner, it is outperformed.

That's cool. I used to run Amsoil, too. I always got it at NAPA for like $7/quart (I think it was priced wrong). Then it went up to like $11 or some chit, and I had to say "no thanks".
It seems to come out looking pretty clean, I know that. But geez... it's pricey.

Ever tried Redline oils? I knew some kid that loved the stuff. It's expensive, too, though. Just always wondered how it stacked up.

I had Redline in mine Trout but gave it up for the over the top price. As good
as amsoil and has some pretty bike specific racing oils in their product lineup

BIG issue to watch out for now is your trusty oil now all of sudden showing
up on the shelf with the ("ENERGY CONSERVING") stamp on it which does a
number on wet clutches with it's friction modifiers "slickening agents".
