Default My brain hurts

It's probably the unseasonal 40-degree heat here in the UK that is affecting my brain. I'm just back on my 1990 F-L after a nice lady driver wrote off my VFR800. Feeling vulnerable, I thought I'd wire up a buzzer to my indicators to make other people more aware of me. Found a 12-volt 100dB buzzer at Maplin, only £1-99. Great!
Fitted it last night, to the left indicator, and it sounded great. Then, brimming with confidence, I wired up the right indicator to the buzzer too. Something in the back of my brain was telling me there was something wrong but it didn't really get through to the front of my brain. Like I said, must be the heat. I was just about to put the seat back on when I thought I'd better try it out.
Of course, with both indicators connected to the positive lead of the same buzzer, whenever I used either indicator, all four came on. Realising my mistake I went back to my Haynes guide, found that there's a grey wire to the indicator relay, and wired the buzzer to that.
This time, as soon as I turned on the ignition, all indicators came on (not blinking) and the buzzer buzzed (non-stop). It was getting dark by now so I had to give up. I told the missus, who's not the world's best electrician by any means, but she said 'Why don't you get another buzzer?' I felt as embarrassed as the time my girlfriend and I were in my XR-2 and she witnessed me being overtaken by a Reliant Robin.

A friend of mine has a Kawasaki Concour, the turn indicators were hard for him to see when the trun signals were on so he installed buzzers like you were tring to do. He ended up using one buzzer for left side and one for the right side.

What's a mekur?

What's a diode?

I've used two buzzers; left one turns out to be slightly higher pitch than right one - instant audible confirmation of which indicators are on!!

You can see XR2's here: www.xrtwo.com
and Reliant Robins here: www.3wheelers.com/robin.html

Wow it is like a whole different world over there when it comes to automobiles. Over here, there are a lot of little ladys in HUGE SUV'S and a lot of ghetto honda's with coffee can exhaust systems.

Lsat year I was in France and had a chance to ride in a Twingo.
When the gas gets up over $5.00/gal as I think it is in France, we will seeing those little old ladies driving around in Twingos. I saw a Smart car on the road here yesterday.

Here's my favorit part.
The "Twingo" name comes from "Twist", "Swing" and "Tango" and it denotes the fun and active personality of this little car.

I get 42 miles per gal with my CBR. Lets see a Twingo or Smart Car go 155 MPH.

On topic!

Diodes are great!

Off topic!

A few years ago, I was in a 1976 Toyota Corolla when we overtook a Subaru WRX... the passengers in the Corolla had their heads and arms out the windows rowing through the air for extra speed!

I kept under 110kph for a whole tank of fuel and managed to get 289km before I refuelled and the reserve wasn't needed! That's better the 6L/100km!

Just need city drivers in Austrralia to learn to ride motorbikes and everyone would save fuel and time... everyone wins, except saudi arabia
