My baby's lost some power
Hey guys, trying to enlist your help again... took her out for a lil ride today before i get on the highway with her and she's sluggish . in every gear when accelerating it seems like the clutch is slipping. if i give her anything more than a 1/4 throttle rpms jump but she doesnt go. i just changed the oil with 20w50 so i checked it to make sure its not low and it wasnt. havent turned her up yet i will be doing that to her on friday once i get spark plug tool but dont think its that it... i thought id ask you guys before i start any major surgery, hoping she just needs a lil botox and not surgery. let me know what you think

Sounds like clutch is gone.............not a big job.
If you used "car type" oil, that would make the clutch slip, as it isn't designed for bike engines where the gearbox and clutch is fed from the engine oil.
Get the bike warm, and if it still slips, then the clutch'll have to come out.

Like classic asked, did it just start after the oil change? Did you use a car oil, a diesel oil, a motorcycle specific oil?

I bought one on e-Bay Motors which has been in the bike for about 35000 K's now. Slight slip when cold but that's it. Cost was around $54 as I recall, some years back.
$58.95 now
Here you go

This is of course just the fibre plates - you may have a different problem, maybe weak clutch springs, but mine have been in for 19 years now, so.............maybe mine are the cause of some slip too.
Having run low on oil, maybe you burnt the clutch, but unlikely...................
Remember to soak the plates in the same oil as you run in the bike, overnight before you fit them....
