Motad system affecting power
Took my CBR1000 for a service and dyno test as I thought the power delivery didn't feel too smooth. Dyno shows steady climb to 84hp at 6300rpm, then it stays at 84hp until 7000rpm. It then climbs to 115hp at 8300rpm but tails off to 108hp at 10500rpm. Measured at crank not wheel. Mechanic said it's due to the Motad Nexxus pipes and cans, and that much work (£250!!) is needed on the carbs to get back some of the lost power.
Does this sound right? I'm not confident enough to play around with the carbs myself but is there anything I can do to improve things? Anyone else had this problem?
Thanks.

RE: Motad system affecting power
It sounds like somethings wrong!!!Have you tried contacting Motad? As they`re usually quite good.
I fitted a Remus full system to my 1990fl and it managed 141bhp at the crank with 78lbft of torque with no carb mods!!!(I was shocked too)72000 miles on the clock!!!
I had a Motad Nexxus system fitted to a Suzuki gsx750f(I think it`s a Katana in the US) a couple of years back, and had no probs!
